Love Without Borders

My sweet dog lost her long battle with kidney disease a few weeks ago, and yesterday I found myself looking through the online pages of some of the local rescue shelters. Just browsing, I told myself...

What struck me about the dogs I saw was how many of them were being brought in from kill shelters from other states. Dozens were even brought in from far-away countries in an attempt to save them from inhumane conditions and certain death.

These dogs were rescued without regard to their geographic location or their breed, without any judgment at all. Someone saw dogs facing insurmountable odds and made the selfless decision to value their lives, to give them a chance.

Imagine if we treated humans with the same compassion.
